About the job

We have an employee who will be part of a long-term project until 2028/2029, and we are therefore looking for a new colleague for the meeting place in Gårdsten.

The meeting place is located in the center of Gårdsten and is open in the afternoons and evenings. We primarily target young people aged 13–18 within the Social Services Administration Northeast, Welfare and Leisure City District. The unit and department consist of several meeting places for children and young people.

We offer you a fun and varied job where, together with the young people, you act as an enabler and create conditions in the daily lives of young people that make a difference. We work on a area-based basis, which means that you will collaborate with all parts of civil society with the aim of creating safe environments and a meaningful leisure time for the children and young people in the area. You are an enabler for the young people in the area, helping them feel involved in shaping their own leisure time, and in doing so, you contribute to their growth and self-confidence!

You support young people in driving their own ideas and developing their creativity. The words influence and participation are our constant companions. You create and maintain good relationships with both the children and colleagues, as well as other actors important to the young people, such as the school, cultural school, associations, and their own homes. You are always open and see opportunities in cooperation and collaboration. All for the sake of our children. We are part of the networks Passalen and KEKS (quality and competence in collaboration).

We primarily operate from our meeting places and schools, but the work also takes place on other arenas to meet young people where they are. This position involves working both days and evenings, and camp activities may occur to some extent. Collaboration around various events is organized throughout the year. During school holidays, we also have extra activities and programs running.

Qualifications

We would prefer that you are educated as a youth leader, social pedagogue, or have another education that the employer deems equivalent. You have experience working with children and young people in open and targeted leisure activities. You also need to have experience working with participation and influence. It is also an advantage if you have worked with cultural expressions or issues regarding norms.

To fit the role of leisure assistant, you need to be responsible, communicative, and team-oriented. You have the activity's best interests in focus, but can also see the bigger picture. You take your tasks seriously and finish what you start. You show respect and consideration for those you meet in your professional role and base your actions on the equal value of all people. You have an open and positive attitude, using the needs of young people as the starting point for your actions.

You adapt your communication to the recipient, target group, and situation, and have the ability to convey information and ideas, both verbally and in writing. You are curious, creative, and contribute new ideas and perspectives to work-related issues, as well as having the ability to see more than one possible solution. You have the ability to work together with others to perform tasks and achieve goals. By being interested and creating understanding for others, you work for a respectful working climate.

We place great importance on personal suitability. Interviews are planned to be conducted during week 32.
